Adoption and growing up, in prison

I don't know if it's normal for a baby to live inside the prison with its mother. Yet according to this story from Lusa there is such baby in Gleno prison with its mother who is serving a sentence for drug trafficking. Incredibly, the mother also gave it up to another prisoner for adoption and this prisoner is none other than Lucia Lobato herself, the former minister of justice who has been given a five year sentence for corruption. It's comical yet disturbing at the same time as the adopted mother, who has three children of her own, says that the baby has been her salvation. Lobato tells Lusa that she has been caring for this baby for five months now! In fact she is in the process to formally adopt the baby, which according to her statements in this story, is almost complete. So mother goes to prison, takes baby with her, mother gives her baby up to another criminal for adoption, in prison, with formal adoption process taking place, ... quite macabre. This baby will step out of the prison gates on its own at the end of Lobato's term. Really? This can't be normal!
