Timor's monkeys look like this and this. I believe there is only species of monkey in Timor-Leste, whether in the wild or kept as pets. I came across this peculiar photo on Facebook, posted by an East Timorese. It's an albino monkey which, according to poster's description, was being sold for $100 USD just outside the parliament house when he snapped it. Obviously some genetic mutation occurred (I have also heard of accounts of albino crocodiles). In Timor, all things albino is linked to the supernatural, particularly ghosts known as rai-na'in including albino persons who are often referred to also as rai-na'in.
I don't know how rare albino monkeys are but certainly you just don't see very many of them. This one certainly deserves a proper investigation and conserved, along with the rest of his species.
